Winter Snowshoe Hare

The Snowshoe Hare lives in most of North America except for the Arctic and the tundras of the far north. They are hard to find unless you know what you are looking for. Their fur coat allows them to blend into the back ground during both the summer and winter. Its fur coat changes colors during the early spring and late fall. It transforms from white to brown for the summer and brown to white during the winter. This makes a challenge for nature lovers and photographers. The best way to see them is to very stand still, quiet and wait because any noise will scare them away.
